If true, that means the A-50 fleet is functionally extinct. Yeah they may have a couple still operational, but the operational demands are going to cause them to be out of active service more than in service.

IF this is true, bear in mind this is apparently some sort of site where planes are modernized. So if there really is a burning A-50 it’s probably not one of the frontline models but one of those drawn from the handful of inoperative reserve aircraft and sent for upgrading, meaning its loss would probably not directly impact Russian AWACS capabilities the way the two shootdowns did.
