    Anyway, before the ’14 referendum, weren’t we told that oil and gas was over?

  2. Ultimately it will become more and more automated anyway. People should be more concerned with AI. It will take more jobs than anyone can imagine. It has the power to seed revolutions.

    On the face of it, at least, this seems like the just transition in action?

  4. There are not enough renewables jobs for people to go to yet. Grid connections for offshore wind won’t be ready for any significant capacity until early/mid 2030’s so even if investment from developers gushed in it would not matter.

    Livelihoods and skills will be lost in their tens of thousands until then.

  6. I wonder what percentage of Oil workers in Scotland are actually Scottish! It might be lots!
