  6. Don’t get Botox the day of your rebuttal to the SOTU. I mean, that’s just basic-level stuff. If you’re going to be in the public eye and you’re in your mid 40’s & are trying to look a little younger, fine; we’ve all done that. But this woman clearly did something other than a few makeup tricks and darker lighting.

    Botox + sounding like a complete emotional wreck = the right-wing politicians we’ve grown used to all this time. I guess I can’t say I’m all that surprised.

    Why is she railing against what she and her party stand for? What they *fight* for? The GOP is always introducing bills to raise retirement age! They voted to repeal the ACA more than 50 times and would have succeeded were it not for McCain going “eh, I’m dying, what the hey”!

  10. There is a pretty big block of Republican voters who sincerely thought she did a great job. If you’ve ever watched the crazy histrionics of a television evangelist, you know that that there are millions of people with sub-basement level intelligence who just LOVE people who speak like this.

  15. This was an attempt from GOP Republicans to attract suburban women who are repelled by the whole MAGA movement including the attack on their reproductive rights.
    Only GOP men could have written this whole response and stage it like we all see.

  24. Headline is hard to take seriously. Like, how much overlap is there between “people with just enough sense to recognize that Katie Britt’s rebuttal was a historical embarrassment” and “people who aren’t intelligent enough to tell that Trump is a historical embarrassment” on the Venn diagram?

  25. The GOP (as a political party) is at its lowest point in my lifetime of around 40 years.

    Trump, a traitorous insurrectionist and convicted rapist, who can barely form intelligible sentences, is the literal face of the party with his daughter in law at the helm of RNC.

    Toss in this parody of a response from Britt last night and it would all be intoxicatingly hilarious if our country wasn’t ostensibly on the precipice of fascism.

    What a spectrum of emotion.

    The MAGA party has basically turned into the gang from Sunny at this point. They’ve gone so deep into their own rabbit hole of crazy that they’re incapable of making even the most basic connection with anybody who isn’t already tuned into their particular Q Anon conspiracy clickbait. They don’t even know how to talk to people outside of their bubble at this point and most normal people just look at them in horror when they listen to them.

  30. I just read Britt’s list of accomplishments in office. She has rarely done anything. It feels like her role in government is to prevent government from functioning.
