Mario Cortegana (@MarioCortegana) on X: Carlo Ancelotti: “Well the Vinicius issue…I have looked a little back in history, at the statistics, and there is no player as persecuted as Vinicius: they kick him, they whistle at him, they insult him, what does he do? He scores goals and gives us assists.

“Do I have to talk to him because of his attitude? No. I think everyone has to change their attitude towards him.
People forget, but I don’t: in Vallecas they gave him a karate blow and there was not even a warning, and now everyone is asking for a red card for a push against Leipzig.”
You go Carlo!
So Carlo thinks he doesn’t need to talk to Vini about his behavior? He basically says “they started first so Vini is not wrong grabbing the opponents neck” for example. Kindergarten level. If this is what he thinks I’m baffled, but hopefully this is just the outside communication.
I’m going to be completely honest: this is disappointing to me, I would have hoped he would act as a mentor to Vinicius. Clearly he is never going to change if no one in the locker room tells him he needs to. He might need to get a red card to realize what he’s doing is harming the team sometimes.
We don’t have access to the locker room. This is Carlo speaking publicly, backing one of his best players, and now with Bellingham’s absence, his best player, publicly.
Believe me that they spoke to Vinicius about his actions vs Leipzig, because it could’ve very well cost us a red and the game, whether you think it was or not. But in public you never throw your best players under the bus.
You know guys, it’s pretty simple … just look at Kroos while in Saudi Arabia, they booed him every time he touched the ball and he just didn’t give a flying fuck. Talk to Kroos, learn from him, that’s it 🙂
