  1. Do it, sign up England too, get me in shape and train me – even I’d put my own neck on the line for that cause, if required.

  2. Excerpts from the linked article by Dmytro Mishuhyn, about a meeting in Lithuania on Friday:

*France is finding allies for the potential deployment of troops to Ukraine among the Baltic countries.*

*“It is not for Russia to tell us how we should help Ukraine in the coming months or years. It is not Russia’s business to organize how we deploy our actions or set red lines. Therefore, we decide among ourselves,” said Stefan Séjournay, Head of the Foreign Ministry of France.*

*In February, French President Emmanuel Macron raised the issue that foreign soldiers may have to be sent to Ukraine.*

*Baltic ministers praised France for “outside the box thinking”.*

*“There can be no “buts”. We must draw red lines for Russia, not for ourselves. No form of support for Ukraine can be ruled out. We must continue to support Ukraine where it is most needed,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis.*

*Warsaw is also changing its position.*

*“The presence of NATO forces in Ukraine is not unthinkable,” Foreign Minister Radoslav Sikorskyi said on March 8, adding that he appreciates Macron’s initiative, “because it says that [Russian President Volodymyr] Putin is afraid, and not we are afraid of Putin.”*

  3. La Légion est prête!

France sees the writing on the wall

  4. I wish Australia had sent in troops at the outset, since they arent a member of nato, it would have meant that nato could have maintained the threat leverage. As an australian, i wish we had the leadership who had the balls to do something like that.

  5. Surprised by this, but Macron is doing what an ally should do. I hope this isn’t a hollow display from the West — although I have no doubt the Baltic nations are serious.

  6. The rest of us can send money. $50, $100, $200. Helps buy drones, night vision equipment, vehicles, medical supplies etc…
See the vetted charities in this sub.

  7. France started something which many others, including the USA, don’t have the balls to even imagine doing.

  8. All of this is a good amount of posturing, and needed. Sending troops to front lines will prove incredibly unpopular for leaders in democratic countries.

  9. Can they not form an alliance to fully back Ukraine with weapons/supplies without sending troops in first? I don’t get this..

Just send them everything you got/ everything they need already.

  10. My best hopeful guess, is strategy is to draw enough attention to the French to spite the UK, which would then take the lead, triggering the Germans that would take the lead, then finally triggering the USA, which would then bring the heavy hammer.

  11. I never would have supported this two years ago, but fuck Putin and his murdering savages.

I wish Canada had a functioning army and enough courage to support this.

  12. Europe should Secure Ukrainian territory in 2 Phases – phase 1 West of the Dnipro. Border security, Air security and military Guarantees. Then Phase 2 North east of the Dnipro and give Ukraine everything it needs to take the Russians on.

  13. My guess is France is betting that Putin is going to lose eventually so they want to position themselves as a senior partner in the winning coalition.

  14. And i mean, you can’t say that Macron is “hot-headed” – he tried to speak with хуйло, on the phone, on airfield-table, etc.
So when he start doing this, it means there is no other way. Time of diplomacy ended…
