Washington State voters to decide on repealing climate act, capital gains tax in November election

  1. This would gut the state’s new cap-and-trade carbon tax that has raised gasoline prices. If successful, it would be the third time that Washington carbon taxes have been disemboweled by big money from out of state.

    For background, this is being run by a right-wing Mormon hedge fund manager who recently moved from LA to Washington on a mission to reverse its liberal politics (while taking advantage of its lack of income tax). He has backing from LDS financiers. They’re spending millions to create a half-dozen right-wing ballot initiatives to destroy the carbon tax, and the cap gains tax, to make it easier for religious parents to ban schoolbooks they don’t like, etc..
