This is my favorite fundraiser so far because PayPal comments like “sexy backpack ew” make me laugh every time.
So! As I’ve written [before](https://www.reddit.com/r/ukraine/comments/1b0l0zf/ukrainians_need_drones_but_they_also_need_drone/), Ukraine needs drone defenses as badly as it needs drones. We have requests for four anti-FPV backpacks. This is electronic warfare: they cast a protective bubble on the battlefield, shielding our guys from russian drones.
You’ve helped us raise enough for two! We’ve got one on order for the 35th and are beginning the paperwork for one for the 30th. (They require the dreaded zapyt, a stamped form saying the unit requires the thing, so it takes a minute.)
We’re raising for two more … and more after that, if we can; the more units who have these, the more of our guys who have some protection against the deadliest threat on the battlefield right now. If you need convincing, go through the photos and read what u/ChosenDirtyP has to say about them.

How good is this backpack?
To jam effectively you need to jam a huge amount of frequencies and boost strength to 100m at least, to avoid the shrapnel. This requires A LOT of energy and a big antennae.
Can a backpack sized jammer do this?

**Update:** one unit is now opting for a handheld, which drops the price a little. As a result, and with the new donations that have come in overnight, we’re sitting at $2363.92 toward another backpack. A little less than $1K to go and a third unit will be strengthened against russian drones!
