Survivors of UK terror attacks warn politicians in open letter

  1. Imagine losing your spouse or loved one to a terrorist attack and your biggest concern is the rise in Islamophobia.

The whole nation is basically suffering from Stockholm syndrome at this point.

  2. I can’t wait for the comments on this post to be very normal and not unhinged.

  3. >To defeat this threat the single most important thing we can do is to isolate the extremists and the terrorists from the vast majority of British Muslims who deplore such violence.

    Eh.

Behind closed doors they think we’re all “kaffir” and don’t deplore it at all…

We had this hundreds of years ago when they came to Spain etc and caused a ruckus.

Our Western ideals and beliefs are in absolute contradiction with Islamic ideals. It’s easy to see this when you simply compare Western societies last centuries with Islamic societies last centuries.

There is a stark, STARK difference.

  4. I chose to post this in an attempt (perhaps a vain one) to try and counter the prevailing islamophobia we see on this subreddit on a regular basis.

If terror attack survivors are able to recognise that it is only a fraction of Muslims are extremists, the rest of us should be able to as well.

Plus there’s the obvious concept that if you find yourself agreeing with the Daily mail, Sun, GB news, Suella braverman and Lee Anderson you’re probably wrong and need to take a good look at yourself and your biases.

  5. I will always have a huge amount of respect for people who suffer such a great tragedy and violence and instead of falling into hate turn it into a message of peace and love. It especially marks a stark contrast to those who aren’t even victims themselves but seek to capitalise on events to sow division and hatred. If there were more people as strong as them then the world would be a much less violent place and there wouldn’t be so many cycles of violence self perpetuating everywhere.

  6. What percentage of comments on here warning people about the dangers of Islam are from people who come into contact with Muslims on a semi-regular basis, would you say?

Genuine question without any prejudice or motive.

I live in East London so come into contact regularly with Muslims, and the view espoused by some on here about what ‘Muslims believe’ is so wildly out of step with reality that I am assuming they just read about it third hand in the newspaper/ you tube comments. But very interested to know if that’s not the case.

  7. What they experienced was horrible, but really it’s extremely rare

  8. I grew up in a school with a significant Muslim population in Nottingham and remember them celebrating 7/7.

There’s definitely a culture of sympathy.

  9. Good for them. The rest of us on the other hand aren’t going to bury our heads in the sand and see the problem for what it is. You know, reality.

  10. Let me fix it for them

“Palestinian survivors starve from Zionist Terrorist attacks in Palestine and the UK population are warning the Politicians through protest and voting”

  11. I am willing to bet that a lot of people in this thread defending Islam in this thread have nothing but utter contempt for Christianity and its followers even though the former has proven to be a greater source of extremists in the past 20 years…

  12. Nudge unit shennagins? Same group who send flowers and imams and council families and survivors not to call for blood?

  13. So we are just going to ignore something that is absolutely common and openly preached in a specific religion because some of the followers are peaceful?

This is sounding alot like how we dealt with inner city youth and knife crime. That is going really well isn’t it? right?

  14. I really advise people to go on YouTube type in bob of speakers corner watch the bravest darn Christian man I’ve ever seen debate Islamic extremists who resort to violence upon him and threats it’s really incredible how composed and articulate he remains.

  15. I would ask how much were these survivors paid?

The article makes reference to “Lee Anderson”

And yet he didn’t just mention the mayor he said

The met the mayor and STARMER these rags edit out Starmer from all recordings

  16. Good stuff. They are free to deal with their grief in whatever way they like.

It doesn’t change the fact that Islamic ideals are fundamentally incompatible with UK society, and British Muslims aren’t doing anywhere near enough to root out people who want to kill other British people in the name of their God.
