Russia’s Advance Around Avdiivka Loses Momentum After Quick Gains

  1. In other news, Bakhmut is now called Artemovsk, Avdiivka is lost, but offensive slows, so that is good, they are losing, Ukraine is 100% winning guys

I don’t think Ukraine is winning. It’s a wild take, but I don’t think they are.

  2. ´´Russia’s assault on Avdiivka resulted in heavy human and material losses for its forces. British military intelligence said that the average daily number of Russian troops killed and wounded in February, when Moscow was devoting a large number of forces to the fight for Avdiivka, had reached 983, “the highest rate since the start of the war.”´´

Is this factually correct? Was Russia really losing nearly 1000 men a day in this offensive? Seems like that kind of casualty rate is unsustainable, even for a military the size of Russia´s.

  3. Wasnt that expected?

The qick gains came from ukraine not having a plan for avdiivka falling

Now that they fortify their positions again
    the advance is gonna stall

  4. The land momentum stopped but there is still noticeable momentum over air space, Russia is managing to target Ukrainian AA throwing Iskandar missiles at them, I reckon those fab glide bombs are pestering ukraine’s army quite alot leading them to move AA closer to front

  5. The reporting on this in the MSM has been such a clown show. The ZSU made it clear they’re pulling back a few kilometers to prepared defenses, as the immediate area near Adviivka could not be fortified due to constant combat. Media: Oh no, Russia wins everything, Ukraine in shambles1!11! Now that the Russians advance up to said defensive line: “Russia stumbles in its offensive!!1!!”

I wonder how come they’re not reporting that rain is wet every single time it’s raining.

  6. Guess it’s time we stop with all the fearmorgering. “Time of peace is over”, “Putin won’t stop after Ukraine”, “Whole Europe is in danger”… yet they’re bleeding fighting against Ukraine alone. It’s absurd.

  7. Doesn’t help.

Russia is still winning that war.

And it didn’t start in Ukraine and it won’t end with Ukraine.

  8. The Russians figured out a “good” strategy for taking defensive positions by just throwing small group after small group into the fight backed up by overwhelming Artillery. You cant clean them all up and sooner or later they will encroach on Ukrainian trenches, forcing them to retreat, because your Position gets a lot worse once they are this close.

As long as you dont care about losses (personell losses that is, with Tanks/IFVs they are already way more careful with those after immense losses early in the offensive) that’s great. And obviously the Russians do not care about losses. (yet)

But this strategy also prevents you from making deep breakthroughs or large encirclements, for that you need mechanized forces, and as seen endless times in this war, driving out there with large vehicle Formations is suicide.

That’s why this offensive will probably run out of Steam
