I’m not knocking it, but it looks like a much older film than Star Wars. Star Wars looks old today, but compare it to it’s contemporaries (outside of 1969’s 2001: A space odyssey) and you grasp how amazing it’s production values for the time were.
That being said, I love me some old cheesy B-movies thanks to Billy Joe Bob Briggs, Elvira, and above all, “Commander USA’s Groovy Movies”, my saturday morning staple from the early days of cable.
Proof that ILM leap frogged the industry.
How many laser sound effects should we use? ALL OF THEM!!!
This movie rules. Highly recommend getting baked or drunk and watching it with or without friends!

Even as a little kid I couldn’t deal with Marjoe Gortner in this one. He’s such a goofball in it.

To be fair, Star Wars is a major rip off of most popular scifi at the time.
