Kansas City Chiefs parade shooting: at least one killed and 22 injured

It become a chaotic and um I hear down down down everybody down and I’m like somebody’s joking you know this is what I’m thinking and about the same time all of a sudden I see the SWAT teams jumping over the fence and I’m like okay this

Might be real our uh kcfd units along with our mutual Aid partners that were working to assist us at this event touched a total of 22 gunshot victims one of those was a fatality um we had eight what we considered immediately life-threatening patients we had seven with the life-threatening injuries and

We had six that were had minor injuries of the most serious the immediately life-threatening injuries we had eight of those those were all transported and off the scene and rout to hospitals within 10 minutes I’m angry at what happened today the people who came to this celebration should expect a safe

Environment we had over 800 Law Enforcement Officers Kansas City and other agencies at the location to keep everyone safe because of Bad actors which were very few this tragedy occurred even in the presence of uniformed law enforcement officers who again ran towards them and took them into custody

Today was tragic for everyone who was part of it I had the chance to talk to my wife just a moment ago who said we became part of a statistic of too many Americans those who have experienced or been part of or connected to a mass shooting that is something that I hope

We all recognize is highly problematic for all of us

At least one person died in a shooting on Wednesday afternoon at a Super Bowl victory parade for the Kansas City Chiefs. Three people have been detained by police following the incident. Speaking after the shooting, Kansas City police chief Stacey Graves said she was ‘angry … the people who come to this celebration should expect a safe environment’.

  1. No, gun violence has NOTHING to do with guns — it's only a mental health issue. If Brits had mental health problems, there would be frequent mass shootings there, too. You can help the US with your thoughts and prayers.

  2. This is like the same thing that happened here in Toronto when the Raptors won the championship back in 2019

  3. Yes this is tragic and I'm praying for the children,ALSO IT WAS TRAGIC FOR THAT POLICE OFFICER AT THE CAPITAL RIOTS THAT WAS KILLED WHY DID NOT ANYONE THERE TACKLE HIS KILLER

  4. Condolences to the families. With the benefit of hindsight, I sincerely hope that lessons will be learned this time and gun safety laws will be reviewed thoroughly and vigorously to ensure that this doesn't occur again on US soil. Prayers, vigils, resolve and meaningful dialogue, not the usual lip service given by opportunistic career politicians or useless Mayors

  5. Never believe someone is joking. You got nothing to lose if they were, but you could lose your life if you didnt take warnings in this situation seriously

  6. So much negativity in the world and it doesn't even stop for families just trying to enjoy a sporting event. I know it's a cliche but the world needs more empathy and love.
