  10. Yes what he’s done with City has been amazing but then again 115 FFP charges and almost 3x the net spend of their closest rival (Liverpool). Could he do what Klopp has done with Dortmund and Liverpool, or what Mourinho did with Porto and Inter? I guess we’ll never know but it’s easy to look like an innovator when you’re buying 3 players for every position and cooking the books to achieve this.

  12. Lance Armstrong was a brilliant cyclist and exceptional athlete but nobody would deny his success was also enabled by a sophisticated and far reaching doping program.

    Pep is certainly an all time great manager but his City success while these charges remain is tainted.

  21. No one is saying Pep isn’t a great manager. That’s not the point at all. The point is that without cheating, City would not have been able to afford him and the infrastructure he demands. So while Pep does not need to cheat to win, City needed to cheat to be able to get Pep.
