  4. It would’ve been just as easy for him to say “you have to have the courage to abandon an invasion for the sake of peace” but he specifically put the onus on Ukraine to surrender and negotiate away parts of their country. I’m not sure what he was thinking.

    But why, for example, Polish Sejm, on base of scientific facts, of which during 2 years was more than enough, still not officially confirmed that Russia not just normal country with which you can negotiate, but fascists colonial empire?

    Why the same still not confirmed Baltic states? France? Germany? Italy? Did all of these countries forgot what fascism is?

  25. Jesus was clear in Scripture, that a wise king looks at his resources before a larger enemy and determines whether he can win or not. If not, he sues for the best terms possible to save his people.

    If I was going to defend the Pope on this comment, it would be with that question. What calculation has led us to Russia seizing Crimea and Donbass rather than maintaining independent Russian influenced states in those areas? Because when the decision was made to keep Crimea and Donbass under Ukrainian and western control, after Russian control of Ukraine was ended, that set into motion the two invasions, or police actions to protect Russian interests as the Kremlin would describe them initially.

    We don’t discuss the precursors to all of this, the western media as usual white washes the long backstory and focuses on today’s Government propaganda. I recall I 2018 and 19 reading very different takes on that Ukraine war form the Times and Journal. I think e owe it to ourselves to take a step back and understand Ukraine and some of its allies wanted the natural resources of eastern Ukraine and also wanted Russia to be pushed out. There absolutely was talk about EU entry for Ukraine.

    So this is what started Russians invasion. I cannot stand the Russian fascists and their government nor will I ever forgive anyone that supported this war and what it has done to all this effected. But let us understand the truth not some very political and corporate worldview. Ukraine has some of the greatest mineral and grain resources in the world. It has access to ports and markets in an ideal location. It is also the pipeline route for Russians resource.

    Certain powers decided those resources and markets would be controlled by Europe and US interests and Russia would lose them. That is an offensive action. This esame interests have abandoned Ukraine to a stalemate.

    We need to talk about all that while we dream of a Russia without the oligarchs.
