  1. “Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski suggested that the Pope “call on Russian President Vladimir Putin to withdraw troops from Ukraine.” This is how the Polish politician commented on Francis’ statements regarding negotiations in Russia’s war against Ukraine on Network X.

“How about urging Putin to have the courage to withdraw his troops from Ukraine for the sake of balance?” said Sikorski.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland noted that in this case, “peace would come immediately without the need for negotiations.”

Earlier, Pope Francis, in an interview with the Swiss television and radio company RSI, in the context of Russia’s war against Ukraine, called on Ukraine to negotiate, and also spoke of the courage to raise the “white flag”.

The head of the Vatican press service, Matteo Bruni, explained that with his words regarding Ukraine, Pope Francis intended to “call for a ceasefire and restore the courage of negotiations,” but did not mean capitulation.

On March 8, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan again offered his country as a platform for negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow, including a “peace summit” with the participation of Russia. However, following the talks in Istanbul, the presidents of Ukraine and Turkey, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, expressed different approaches to the issue of Russia’s participation in negotiations to end the war.

At a press conference on 25 February, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reiterated that he did not see the possibility of holding peace talks with Putin, and that Ukraine would offer “a platform on which he (Putin – ed.) can accept that he lost this war.”

In November 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky presented a ten-point plan known as the “peace formula.” In particular, it stipulates that any negotiations with Moscow can begin only after it returns all the occupied territories, including Crimea, and withdraws troops from all the regions it occupies. In September 2022, Ukraine approved a decision that, in particular, provides for the impossibility of negotiating with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The American Institute for the Study of War (ISW), which has analyzed reports in the Western media about possible “Kremlin signals” about its readiness for negotiations, says that Russia’s maximalist goals – to control Ukraine and weaken NATO – remain unchanged.”-Radio Svoboda(RFE)

  2. I just don’t understand people who demand Ukraine should enter into negotiations with Russia. You don’t negotiate with a thief to get your stolen property back, everyone should be able to understand that. But this case is even worse. How could you possibly negotiate with someone who has made it publicly known they wish to destroy you entirely? Who’s publicly stated you are not even a legitimate entity with a mandate to negotiate, because they don’t recognise your existence?

    How?

  3. Literally the only thing the pope can come up with is recommending to make a deal with the devil

  4. Good for you! That last thing about “courage” in surrendering to Russians was way off. They are already courageous defending their families and way of life.

  5. I agree with Lawrence Olivier Award winning composer Tim Minchin who wrote in his epic song about the pope:

Fuck the motherfucker, fuck the motherfucker

Fuck the motherfucker, he’s a fucking motherfucker

Fuck the motherfucker, fuck the motherfucker

Fuck the motherfucker, he’s a total motherfucker

Fuck the motherfucker, fuck the motherfucker

Fuck the motherfucker, fucking fuck the motherfucker

Fuck the motherfucker, fuck the motherfucking pope

  6. At the beginning of war substantial part of World’s journalists outright named Russian regime fascistic.

But why, for example, Polish Sejm, on base of scientific facts, of which during 2 years was more than enough, still not officially confirmed that Russia not just normal country with which you can negotiate, but fascists colonial empire?

Why the same still not confirmed Baltic states? France? Germany? Italy? Did all of these countries forgot what fascism is?

Even Francisco Franco much milder version of fascism named so, but Russia cannot be named so because, what, because UN status and nukes?

This how Europe working almost 80 years after WW2?

  7. Pope is such an a-hole. I’m Catholic and I think this.

  8. Lets see where the Vatican loyalty lies, for the good or for the evil!

  9. I think it might be a good idea to let Russia annex Vatican City and see if those child molesters still feel the same way.
