  1. Thanks for posting this. I saw it live but had no way of recording it.

  2. Are there normally that many people on the stage to shake hands with?

That seemed like a comical number of people.

  3. Love this man so much..amazing actor win or lose, but such a gneuine man that isn’t into the age of celebrity. An Irish great in my eyes.

  4. Reminded me that Nicholas Cage won an Oscar. Movies were mental in the 90s.

  5. He held on to Emily blunt a bit too long there that John kravsinsky had to hit the arm !

  6. Californian Man presenting to Cork Man.

    Love it.

Joking aside, after the hug with RDJ, and the old man stroll to the stage, might be the most relaxed I’ve ever seen him.

Mental, Brendan Fraser, Matthew, and Nic Cage, all on stage to greet him. Magic. What an absolute moment. The who is who of Hollywood that have went from top to bottom, back to top.

  7. Really delighted with that news now honestly, fantastic achievement!

Brendan Frasier nearly looks like he did years ago, fair play to him also.

    Fair play to fkn everyone!!

  8. Look at him. The big Irish head on him.

Fair play to him! Well deserved.

  9. Pretty boring speech ngl.

Phenomenal actor, well deserved, but cmon lads it’s just “thanks”.

Thanks for posting, maybe I’m just a dry shite but I have never seen a good Oscar speech, and probably wouldn’t have seen this one if you didn’t post

  10. I very rarely care for celebrities and awards and I feel weird about national pride.

But fuck me I am chuffed for the man. Hearing Irish being spoke on stage at this level of event made me smile.

  11. He’s up there lads with all the other great lads from the island like Bobby sands, Sean connery and Mikey collins

  12. Superbly done. What a thoroughly admirable man he is.

  13. Absolute class act. Nice little message towards the end that I’m interpreting as a nod to Ireland’s support of a ceasefire in Gaza. It’s important for us to be the nation that always advocates for peace.

  14. I’m a little bit disappointed that a man known for his intelligence and morality like Murphy didn’t take the opportunity to publicly call for a ceasefire, tbh

He’s never seemed the type who’d compromise what he thinks is right for a little extra success, so I don’t think he’d fear for his career prospects the same way others might

  15. I loved the part where he said hes a proud IRISH actor. He knew that the British tabloids would be saying he was English tomorrow morning
