Previous matchday FC Twente dropped their first points of the season in a 0-3 loss to reigning champions Ajax. They came back strong with a late 3-1 win over 3rd placed PSV. It seems like the title is almost decided now with 5 games to go, and that Ajax will finish second. First placed team will go to the Champions League qualifying where they’ll have to go through two rounds in the champions path. The second placed team will also go through the Champions League qualifying where they’ll have to go through two rounds in the league path.
I believe the Champion and the three period champions will qualify for the Eredivisie Cup, which is a small tournament after the regular season. Fortuna Sittard are having yet another impressive season. Last year was their first year in the league and they finished 3rd and now they’re battling ADO Den Haag for the final spot in the Eredivisie Cup.
There is no relegation, so the lower teams have not much to play for anymore, apart from honour of course.
