  1. NATO put boots on the ground and are now concerned about retaliation (various statements about conscription, preparing for war against Russia, etc).

  2. The thing is, there would be need for peacekeepers in the **internationally recognized border** between Ukraine and russia but russia being in the security council, that would never happen.

  3. Even if it did then so what? Ukraine is a souvereign country and can invite whoever they want. let’s just start doing it! Even if its 3 people in uniform just drinking coffe and taking selfies. It’s a self imposed “red line” and it needs to go.

  4. Let’s say France puts soldiers in Ukraine. Russia attacks them, deliberately or inadvertently. France retaliates against Russian soldiers in Ukraine, either from within Ukraine, or from outside. Russia retaliates by firing long range missiles against French airfields or missile installations with France. Would that trigger article 5?

  5. The presence of Russian soldiers in Ukraine violates international norms. The point of respecting these norms is to create an environment where everyone feels obliged to follow them. Not sure why we should care otherwise.

  6. Keep saying this! Normalize it! So when it happens, it’s not a shock to everyone. Putin needs to get used to the idea before the fact.

    This is the way.
