Concerns grow that scale of ‘partygate’ is now too great for Sue Gray’s inquiry | Boris Johnson

  1. If Cressida refuses to investigate now, she must go. I would argue she potentially may even face charges as it appears to be clear dereliction of duty.

  2. I still can’t really grasp how we have managed to get in the position where the government have admitted breaking their own laws on numerous occasions, with heaps of photographic/solid evidence & they can get out of it by holding their own “inquiry”.

They aren’t above the law, they are elected to represent us – they should each be fined the maximum amount & some should be in prison for continually ignoring the lockdown laws & actively organising events that breached these laws.

If a prole had been hosting large illegal raves weekly & had been found by the police with the same amount of proof I would bet my life they would be seeing the inside of a cell, why the fuck is it different for this lot?

The sooner a general strike/mass unrest comes the better honestly, we can’t keep rolling over & taking this nonsense, it’s beyond a joke, fuck the met police & fuck this current “government” the UK deserves better.

  3. That would be peak 2020s Tory, to be fair.

‘The scale of the wrongdoing was so massive that we just can’t do anything about it. What a shame!’

  4. I honestly don’t care about any of these gatherings or drinks.

I care about lying to the public over where all the billions have gone in terms of track and trace, covid testing, PPE, the initial saga of the MP who was corrupt.

    Socially distanced drinks? Whatever

  5. It annoys me that rather than admitting failure, he wants there to be an enquiry, a waste of tax money spent to find out whether he did something that we know he definitely did … waste of time and money to delay an inevitable outcome, jail the cunt

  6. I would like to see an inquiry into how much the conservative party as a whole knew to me. Given they were living it up at least once a week at the very least there must have been gossip and rumors about what was going on.

  7. I’m wondering if the people they have investigating were at these parties. I feel like fuck all will happen once again and it will get swept under the rug

  8. When people across the country have (rightly) been fined by the police for breaking lockdown rules for parties, it is absolutely unjustifiable for the police not to investigate the downing Street parties. The police are sending the message that the government and its employees are above the law.

  9. The idea that the police are waiting for the outcome of an internal Civil Service lead investigation before deciding to look at this is fucking ludicrous.

In no other setting, could anyone, hold off a police investigation because Compliance or HR or Senior Management were investigating a matter.

Hold off lads someone’s been raped on company premises but Keith and Joanne from HR are on the case. Fucking mental the whole thing. If there is a fucking hint of criminality the MET should be investigating.

  10. Translation = The leaks are outweighing the investigation’s remit and continually undermining, requiring redrafts of the attempted internal whitewash document.

  11. I do not want hypocrites and liars being put in positions of responsiblity in the UK, especially those who cannot admit wrongdoing.

This should be a wake up call to voters. I say should but I won’t hold my breath.

  12. I wonder if there is a group of people out there professionally trained to investigate this type of matter..let’s say a group that is paid for by the public??

  13. I really don’t understand why Sue Gray is doing this inquiry, and if any criminality is uncovered then its a police matter? I don’t even care about the criminality to the same degree that I care about the constant lying over it. How compromised is Boris from all those around him. He either doesn’t have a fucking clue what’s going on or doesn’t intervene when he should – which of those doesn’t matter, its all incompetence.

I don’t care what her reputation is or her previous work.

Are people happy with the Catholic Church launching an inquiry into themselves?
