I have a good friend who’s trans F to M. He is currently on a bodybuilding journey and he’s ripped. He has a beard, cropped hair and is fairly heavily tattooed. I assume under this law he will be required to use the women’s facilities at the gym?

The UK desperately needs legislation to delegitimise disgraced politicians like Truss. It would at least incentivise politicians to actually do honest, useful, constructive and thoughtful actions rather than sprout nonsense to stoke unnecessary conflict and think they can get away with it.
She is allowed an opinion, but at least back them up with studies or reasoning. We all know she can’t, like she couldn’t back up her disastrous term as Prime Minister (which is still weird to say).

If this law came into power the only logical conclusion is that every Women’s only space would need to hire a security guard that would be required to check everyone’s genitals prior to entering. It’s completely unenforceable.

I found it striking to see, considering the hysteria over trans women committing sexual offences, that going by the ‘Prison population: 31 December 2023′ file, in each quarter of the last year between 3 and 7 (non trans) women were imprisoned for sexual crimes, except December 2023 which had only 1. 19 in total for the year 2023 alone.
Now, call me crazy, but I don’t recall despite the sustained efforts of the media and prominent anti-transgender activists’ efforts to comb every possible case and make sure every possible instance got maximum media attention, 19 separate trans women sexual offence cases in the UK being talked about, which would be comparable to the general stat for women. I remember one. I don’t remember huge coverage of each of the thousands and thousands of sexual assaults committed by men either, or of *any* of the cases of the assaults these 19 women took part in being trumpeted from the rooftops either. I feel like the average person would come away with a much different perspective that trans women are disproportionately dangerous if they knew some of the real statistics.
The most alarming bit IMO is the bit about regulating social transitioning practices in schools, because that probably translates to requiring teachers to out LGBTQ students to their parents. Doubleplusungood.
