The Cancelling of Noel Clarke: Outrage at Channel 4 over planned documentary

  1. The problem with this idea of ‘cancelling’ celebrities is that it seems to be predicated on the erroneous belief that once you are famous then you have earned the right to be famous forever.

If he was in any other profession, say a teacher or a barrister, and 20 women came forward to accuse him of assault nobody would be saying he had been ‘cancelled’.

  2. Good. So he should.

Shouldn’t be allowed back on the screens because he’s as much a bad actor as he is a creep.

Sounds like he’s been taking videos too. Which doesn’t sound good at all.

  3. They are not giving him work, it’s a documentary *about* him.

Presumably the people complaining also think that [this amazing documentary](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4299972/) should never have been made because it ‘gave a platform’ to a suspected (at the time, now convicted) murderer.

  4. I will wait before i judge this.

There’s no real detail here, but if the makers include his victims and it’s not just a chance to clean his image, there might be something of value here.
