I feel like this is complete bullshit from the report, I can find wayyy more english speakers in Lux than in BE or AT or DE. Some countries which speak native english or low proficiency 💀

I’m not surprised tbh, we are only taught English from the age of 13 here. In a lot of these other countries, English is introduced a lot earlier. This is simply a product of us having 3 national languages, none of which are English.
To add to this, I’d say that those who do know how to speak English here are no worse than the Dutch, but the amount of Dutch people that can easily hold conversations in English is mental.
Looking at the report, I don’t understand how English proficiency here has gone from 626 in 2018 to 575 in 2023.
