As someone who lived in London for several years, there are days you would pay anything just for a chicken fillet roll. The lack of being able to grab a quick fresh roll for lunch is very annoying

Sure I paid €7.50 for a breakfast roll last week in a pokey greasy spoon in Dublin!
Got into the car thinking it was a mistake, went back in and they said nope that’s the price of them. Never going back in there again and gave them a 1 star review on Maps. And it was a shite roll too, was still dying from a hangover after it.
YS and soon all the brits will be bankrupt afte they become addiceted to our national delicacy!

I’ve only been in Berlin for two weeks for erasmus now and holy shit I miss chicken rolls it’s not even funny anymore
Chicken fillet rolls and spice bags are Irish street food. We are class.
I live in London and like everyone was well into this idea when I heard about it. I had it a couple of weeks back and it was shite. Chicken was black from being deep fried too long, fillings were limited, roll was stale, drinks were warm, the lads doing it were getting every order wrong and it took like 10 mins to get one roll.. and all for £8. I’m well up for someone getting a quality chicken filet roll thing going here but this is just a bunch of chancers.
Someone needs to do it properly. Get some proper cuisine de France rolls, bake the chicken, have a good selection of fillings. Maybe get some branding to make it look like the stickers they put on the roll in a centra deli. Ingredients can be cheap, it doesn’t have to be gourmet or complicated.
I just hate the fact it’s a bunch of eejits makin shite and chargin a fortune because it’s London.
As much as we like to mock the comedians who say so, chicken rolls and spice bags do seem to be uniquely Irish. I don’t live in London anymore, but I’d have probably gone mad for roll over there rather than shite from Greggs or Pret. Bit expensive, but that’s London prices for you, especially when there’s no competition.
Only fat, dumb cunts like the Irish would have beige, deep fried bullshit like a chicken Fillet roll that’s been under deli lights for 4 hours as their “national dish”. Anyone paying a fiver plus for this shite should hang their head in shame
