This is key to Trump supporters: they ache for the opportunity to do the same–to mock or belittle others for a perceived difference–without facing negative consequences as a result of their behavior. They see Trump being capable of it and live vicariously through his behavior, with hope that it enables their free path to behave in the same way.
I feel like if you make a career out of mocking “taboo” things: physical appearance, religion, orientation, disabilities, etc.. you are now officially fair game.

He mocked the mentally disabled, who by and large can’t speak up for themselves. Few spoke up about it. So he mocked dead veterans, who can’t speak for themselves. And few spoke up about that.
Now a group who is here and able minded is mocked, and so they are speaking up. How far can trump push this, how many groups can he attack and mock individually before everyone bands together in solidarity and prevention of *theirs* being next?

I remember once upon a time in US politics where if a politician mocked differently abled people that would be the end of his career. 5 years later and now we’re suprised the guy who mocked the disabled is now mocking people with speech impediments?

In a way, I think it’s the wrong tactic to mock Biden’s stutter. It’s disgusting, but not bad for Biden’s side. Most of the MAGA brainwashed sheep didn’t know about the stutter and believe Biden is brain damaged instead. This way Trump is actually informing them with a fact and some will, because of this, change their vote. I mean, I hope so. I’m still an optimist, but it’s getting a bit difficult ..
