In an interview with a Swiss broadcaster, Pope Francis said Ukraine should have the “courage of the white flag” and negotiate with Russia in order to put an end to the war.

  1. In his first sentence he contradicts himself. If Ukraine surrenders then the population will be conscripted and sent to fight and die in the next war.
    Yet again we see a Pope siding with dictators.

    Was a deal reached at the fall of the Berlin Wall? Did the U.S.S R open the Iron curtain with the promise NONE of the countries would join NATO?
    If Russia loses this … they lose their only warm water port, they are completely surrounded, and hostile nations will take said port over.

What we need to understand is that Christianity at its core is about turning the other cheek when one is struck, and trusting in God’s power rather than in the power of men to grant salvation. Yah, that allows for many to take advantage of you, but Jesus would say such a conclusion misses the larger point, of salvation from death through eternal life.

  19. I see the angry mob against the Pope. Let me clarify something for everyone. He is the representative of God on earth. Do you really expect him to make military calculations about surrendering to Mordor? He is just a Pope. He has an obligation to call for a ceasefire and to surrender. That's his duty. Ukraine, of course, cannot do this for a simple reason. Those who surrender will be tortured and killed. In that order. What difference does it make to die on the battlefield or in Putin's prison?

  29. You can't negotiate with mafia terrorists who are determined to wipe you off the face of the earth. In addition, putin has no plans to stop with Ukraine. This pope needs to work on his discernment skills and do his research before offering opinions. Giving terrorists what they want only leads to more terrorism-the opposite of peace.

Ukrainian suffering more and more in this conflict day by day … already millions of Ukrainian left the country and whole country become mess … and trust me all this wester countries is not bothering about innocent Ukrainian they only bother about to win there proxy war against Russia… and Russia is not a Iraq or Libya …
