Hello, can you help me understand what are my options to legally register one-time remote contract work (IT consulting) with the company that is registered (and located) in the Netherlands, while I’m living and am a resident of Germany?
Some context: for 10+ years I’ve been living in Germany and working for local companies. I’m currently unemployed, but have found an interesting consulting opportunity in the Netherlands. The company in the Netherlands does not have a branch in Germany, so they can only employ and pay through the Netherlands entity.
I’m a private citizen and am not registered as a freelancer in Germany.
I’m aware there’s the possibility to register as an EOR (Employee of Record) via a service similar to [remote.com](https://remote.com), but it seems to be an overkill for the one-time fixed scope contract work, doesn’t it?

What are my options overall? What’s the easiest way to legally register such an income? It’s one-time and very likely would not repeat in the foreseeable future, so I want to minimise paperwork for myself, if possible.
