I am shocked that a man who is under multiple different investigations for among other things, defamation, keeping classified documents, sexual assault, and trying to overthrow the government isn’t popular.

I am a statistician and want to point out an interesting fact: Polling is just another method to measure the public sentiment, just like an election. Both methods have their own benefits: Polls only take a sample and try to approach the real value from this, accounting for sampling biases. Elections should ideally give everyone a vote and therefore not have any sampling bias, but this is not necessarily true. The act of investing some time, standing in line and voting itself is a hurdle that leads to some bias in the outcome, and there is no accounting for that. This has historically been used to supress votes of POCs by putting only very few voting places into mayority black neighborhoods.
So, lets say there were a candidate who spent a lot of his time convincing his voter base that the democracy is rigged anyway, voting doesn’t matter and he wants to restrict voting rights. When asked in a poll, these people will say that they will vote for their candidate, but when the day has come and they have to move their asses, will they? Elections tend to have a pro-democratic bias, and this is in favour of democrats.
This effect was seen a lot in the mid term elections in 2022 when all the polls pointed towards a republican landslide but the result was more in favour of democrats than predicted.
Don’t forget, he regularly poops his pants in public.

Call me crazy but it feels like pollsters colluded to push Trump to the top of the primary with a constant stream of really poorly executed polls that showed a virtual tie at a time when the biggest knock on Trump was his electability.
Polls changed that narrative just as DeSantis and Haley were gaining ground. Now the early primaries and super Tuesday is done, the nomination is locked up, and it seems like polls that aren’t so poorly executed are now coming out showing the truth about how deeply unpopular he is.
By poorly executed, I mean shenanigans like over-representing rural voters by 20 points.
And I’m not saying they colluded to help him per se, just to help the news organizations they work for with views and clicks, as Trump being in the race is going to help this industry remain profitable at a time it appears to otherwise be collapsing.
8 years later, I’m still amazed when I see a Trump flag or bumper sticker. I not only do not understand how anyone can be so out of touch with reality to want this guy as their leader but to also happily brag about their choice – it’s just astonishing to me.
Not saying I’m excited about Joe, but it’s still a no-brainer as far as I’m concerned.

I live in rural Alberta Canada. Our premier is a right wing lunatic who loves Trump (she just held a heroes welcome public discussion with Fucker Carlson). She’s currently dismantling everything she can; our free healthcare, our education system, LGBTQ rights, our pension plan – basically everything Fox says are bad, she’s doing to our province.
I was talking to my uncle last week, staunch conservative. He asked what I thought. I said she was a fucking looney tune who was corruptly destroying our province. He sighed and agreed, but then said “I mean, I’ll still vote for her next time cause I’ve always voted conservative, but I’m definitely disappointed”.
Every single Republican voter that isn’t pure brainwashed MAGA does not like or trust Trump. They will tell the polls and their friends and the news casters outside the booths that they won’t vote for him.
But they will. They will vote conservative, no matter who is running it, because they have the mentality to always vote right wing no matter what.
It’s fucked up your country, and it’s currently fucking up mine. The Trump disease is spreading across borders and it needs to be goddamned stopped.
