Ideally there is fresh air coming from somewhere near the stove, and the little vent in the roof is on opposite side of the sauna compared to the stove.

Can’t tell from this pic. But it is for sure the person who cut the tin pipe had no proper tools, so it could either be for ventilation or a horizontal toilet. It is a mystery.
