Just put a lampshade over your head and stand very still if you want to survive.
second dude barely made it around the tree while the operator already adjusted to the feint and maneuvered back and forth. insane reaction and foresight.
This looks terrifying. Little buzzing boom hornets everywhere.
My god General Patton was right
skillful is right!
Stand still and look like a tree! What a good way to counter drones!
First guy: “I will simply walk around this tree”
1:18 – “It’s right behind me, isn’t it?”
What a shitty way to go. That has to be terrifying
Literally the flying equivalent of SCREAMERS.
Love the Peekaboo Motherf$!!$%r hits.
There is a delivery drone service in my area. Every so often you’ll hear the whine of a drone, look up and see it dropping off packages. It’s a weird sound.
Can you imagine the PTSD triggers in the future when guys who have been targeted by drones… guys who have been chased, lived through the terrifying whine and seeing their brothers blown up… are just at the park with their kid trying to move on when that whine happens again because someone needed Taco Bell?
It’s gonna be hellish for them.
that last one was absolutely cracked.
Goddamn. These are basically the Manhacks from Half-Life 2. Except if Manhacks exploded, Gordon Freeman probably would be dead…
I’ve had FPV drones for several years and spend a few hours flying them every year. These ukrainian pilots have mad skills for flying among the trees like that.
The end of conventional warfare
The one from 1:20, seems to have already accepted the fate and not moving an inch when the drone is slowly approaching…
Second guy, “Pow! Right in the kisser!”
Every time I watch these FPV drone videos, I find myself leaning wildly all over the place as if I could somehow influence the trajectory. I know it’s stupid, I know it’s preposterous, yet *still* I’m leaning every which way urging the drone towards its target.
When I was serving we had a big briefing in a lecture theatre about the future of warfare, and there was an animation showing drone swarms the size of drink cans flying into people’s heads and we found it ridiculous
the movement prediction on the second drone clip is actually insane experience. you can tell they’ve done this a lot.
All I can think of is the fact that these guys have so much experience now. They have so many drones, they can afford to take risks and learn from them.
The West needs to start building video game-like simulation systems to enable soldiers to reach this level of competence before they arrive on the battlefield.
These simulations need to replicate radio interference, feature complex terrain engineering, and complex artificial intelligence and modeling/animation to replicate human self preservation instincts.
edit: I wonder if they could devise a real-world simulation of this simply with unarmed drones. I’m not sure dangerous that would actually be in practice. They might be able to develop a very lightweight drone with a similar flight control profile. That would enable soldiers to defend themselves…because these guys look utterly helpless…broken down to the core human ability to run and hide is NOT what soldiers are trained to do.
