It is not a loan of cash money for any purpose – it’s specifically for buying military equipment from US. It is a coupon to pay in installments.

I’m sure Ukraine would’ve appreciated a loan like 5 months ago but I guess that would’ve made too much sense.
Lithuania is also getting similar deal to buy Himars.
Everyone is talking about Apaches that are (unofficially) tied to that loan, but to me the real jaw dropper is the agreement on selling 821 AGM-158B-2 JASSM ER missiles. That’s a weapon and quantity allowing Poland to let anyone fucking around find out in a particularly hard way.

If Ukraine will win – all of these preparations wouldn’t be needed.
If Ukraine will lose – all of these preparations would become useless:
1. Russia will start to use Ukrainian resources not so much to attack West, as to get even more recourses for attack on West – by occupying Central Asia countries and strengthening allies for WW3.
2. Ukrainian defeat, and therefore defeat of everything that Ukraine did in 1994-2024 years (including faith in the West), will discredit/destruct International Law. Therefore, everything will evolve to “WMD-Might make Right/True” Russian context.
3. If by these “preparations” West will give Russia time to prepare for WW3, then they will become useless against tens of millions of drones.
If in 1941 years USA by the same logic would strengthen itself and own non-belligerent allies more than fighting allies, then today everyone would speak by German or by Russian language.
