No.
I know it’s a Hindu symbol but you really shouldn’t do that because nobody will think of Hindus.
You will just get in trouble for showing forbidden symbols.
Although I live in a rather small town, I went to school with several Hindu.
Somehow, the urge to display display the svastika for religious reasons always gets brought up by non Hindu.
Never by actual Hindus living in germany (living close to one of the biggest European Hindu temples, the discussion never, ever occurred in the first place as far as I know).
Every Hindu I have met in Germany was very aware of the connotation a swastika has here and tried to avoid offending anyone by showing it in public. Because they were nice, considerate people.
Will you get criminally charged for showing it if you can convincingly explain that you are Hindu and it is part of your religion? Probably not. It’s still a rude, thoughtless thing to do.
Please know that Swastik is a symbol of national socialism and the holocaust in Germany
One symbol can mean two different things in two different parts of the world, and that’s ok. But if you know of the connection and still show it in the area where it’s associated with genocide, you’re an edge lord seeking attention, and an asshole.
Isn’t the Hindu symbol the other way round? Also, if you move to Germany, historical sensitivity is part of the integration process. Never seen a (reverse) swastika anywhere.
