Hope this can be replicated and scaled up. Efficient, little/no cathode anode degradation and using water to source the hydrogen. Really hope its a potential way to use excess energy to generate hydrogen fuel during high renewable outputs to store for long term fuel to supply during longer gaps batteries arent as suitable for i.e seasonal/annual variation in energy output.
Good lord that title is garbage. They could have dropped the word “energy” from it and made it both shorter and more accurate.
Separate h and o gasses sounds good. It still uses electricity to produce it. So it has the benefits and challenges of other methods.
The infrastructure to build this to scale deserves the subsidies that polluters are getting.
So the solution is simple: pollution producers will get zero subsidies.
Fossil fuels should not receive any more subsidies since they are polluting the planet.
