Hi guys!

Recently I stumbled upon a Polish store here in Hungary and bought a few things linked below. (Not pictured a pack of meat stuffed pierogi that was unfortuately dissapointing as it had no flavor at all, but there are other brands so im not giving up on it, and some amazing mayo thats almost gone ((Kielecki)))

My questions would be about the quality of these stuff as instant food goes, and how could I make them more amazing. I was in Poland back in 2017 and during my time there there was an event hosted by the fundation I was volunteering at and I had Żurek there. While it was not fancy made maybe even instant as it was meant to feed a lot of people and kids but it was still sooo good. Unfortunately I was living on ~600 złoty a month so I never had the chance to eat out properly.
If I recall correctly it had boiled egg pieces, some kind of white kielbasa pieces and bread. I have not found those kind of sausages here but still looking.

Is there anything else you would recommend I add to it? Vinegar, lemon juice maybe? Just to make it pop more.

Also if there are good higher end brands you could recommend I try?

Eventually I will make my own homemade Żurek but I have to figure out the rye fermenting.

Basically its a PIMP my Żurek post.

  1. I think Kielecki burned all your taste buds with the vinegar, that’s why you cannot taste anything
Anyway i would add shittton of black pepper and boil some eggs to add to the soup,

  2. Generally, traditional Polish dishes in the “instant” form are frowned upon. Having said that, I tried a few. The one that is as good as home made is from [Adamba](https://polishhypermarkets.com/index.php/en/adamba-polish-style-white-borsch-zurek-soup-42g.html). I think it’s local to where I live though. The thing is so good, that I no longer ferment my own.

    The zurek I make, gets:

    – caramelized or fried onions
    – pieces/slices of fried sausage, some people add fried bacon bits
    – egg, if there is not sausage
    – cubed potatoes (boiled separately)
    – a bit of black pepper
