Every County I slept rough in when I was homeless for 9 months.

  1. Interesting stuff. Whereabouts in Lincolnshire were you sleeping rough? And I’d be interested to know why South Yorkshire was your least favourite. Also, how did you move about?

  2. Thanks for sharing and sorry you had to go through this experience. Do you mind if I ask some questions for my own understanding (as I’m quite ignorant when it comes to homelessness but don’t want to be)?

    How did you travel around?

What led you to being homeless?

How did you get back on your feet?

When you were homeless, what things could the average person (e.g. me) have done to help you out?

  3. I take it in Nottingham you was in town near Broadmarsh/And or Market square?

  4. Hope all is well now, was there a reason you kept moving around and covered as much of the country or is that what homeless people tend to do?

  5. Would be interesting to see the route you took through these counties and to learn about how you travelled.

  6. As a man from South Yorkshire, I completely get it.

Jokes aside, I hope you’re doing better now ❤️

  7. Bloody hell, why would Cambridgeshire be your favourite out of all those?! I’ve been here for 20 years and I’m constanly plotting how to leave, sadly jobs disagree.

  8. Wish you all the best mate, can’t have been easy, very interested to know your thoughts of North Yorkshire!

  9. A small note for anyone facing homelessness looking at the post:

Please try not to move around like this as authority invested in charities and local councils etc do not extend into the jurisdictions of other counties, and any progress made on trying to get you help via accommodation or other routes will be reset. Staying in literally the same exact place helps them know where you are and how to help you.

  10. Never quite made it as far as a Cumbria, eh?

I hope things are going better for you now!

  11. As someone from West Yorkshire, we have a ye olde saying “South Yorkshire is worst yorkshire”

  12. Impressed you managed to avoid central London, would’ve thought that’d be a relatively sound choice if not dangerous

  13. How was it down in Cornwall? Hope you got a roof over your head now though!
