Christina Applegate Says She ‘Probably’ Had Multiple Sclerosis for ‘Six or Seven Years’ Before Official Diagnosis: ‘I Really Just Put It Off’

1. This is so heartbreaking for her. I hope her story inspires others to go get diagnosed at the first indications rather than waiting. I think her story could really help others.

2. My heart hurts for her. In every interveiw and was even pranked on a MTV prank show she’s always genuine and gracious.

   My mom likely had MS for 10 years before being diagnosed. She had regular doctor visits and complained about many of the symptoms. She was fired from multiple salons because of the symptoms, primarily leg pain causing her to need to sit down between clients instead of stand all day as a cosmetologist.
   She was finally diagnosed when we thought she had a stroke.

   She is now wheelchair bound. We have seen several of her former bosses out and about. Each time you can see the panic when they realize they fired her for needing to sit down when she had a degenerative disability.

   My mom loves Christina Applegate because she is honest about her experience with MS. Too many people fade into the peripheries when they stop going out or working. Christina Applegate is doing something that matters by being vocal about this.

7. Besides she’s a woman which means that her symptoms would have been ignored by the doctor and she would have been told that she’s either a hypochondriac or she just needs a man in her life.
