News and Politicians should be HAMMERED with severe fines every time they are caught in a lie. A streamlined process that makes it inconvenient as hell to be incorrect and make every single person with a platform double check their claims before putting that shit on the air.
If you can remember a time before the golden escalator, it wasn’t uncommon for politicians of either party to apologize or walk back problematic statements.
