  1. It’s happening here in CO too. The fires caused multiple companies to stop writing in CO. Including my company I’ve had for years. New premium with another company is up 45%.

  2. Just have the government do it already. Climate change means there’s no way you can predictably and profitably insure homes against disasters. The Weather patterns are too erratic and too destructive.

    We’ve known this was coming for decades now. It’s not a problem private markets can solve.

  3. Florida has become a fucking nightmare for insurance rates on everything due to everyone paying for all the rich assholes living along the coasts

  4. It’s not just homes. A lot of insurance companies are no longer offering comprehensive coverage to California drivers or if they do it’s prohibitively expensive.
