I was walking into a tube station when a stranger handed a one day travelcard, I guess he no longer needed it. It gave me a free journey home!

  1. People used to do that a lot (or try to sell it for a quid or two) but I’ve not seen a one day travel card used in anger since Oyster and contactless payment became common

  2. 15-20 years ago it used to be the norm that you gave your ticket away that you had people just waiting at the ticket barriers waiting for you to hand your ticket to them.

  3. Bro, you’re basically stealing and it’s immoral. And you push up the prices for the rest of us law abiding citizens.

  6. Did you need it though? I thought you were unable to afford it or something and someone helped you.
