Peruvian authorities destroyed more than 20 tonnes of illegal drugs in the country’s first massive drug burn this year. The drugs were seized in several operations between September 2023 and January 2024 and included cocaine, marijuana, and ecstasy. Peruvian Interior Minister Victor Torres said most of the drugs were seized in Piura, Ayacucho and Puno.
