  5. She’s saying she has no control over the script, direction or production. She’s just an actor (as opposed to a producer like on Anyone but You) so it being a flop isn’t as big a disappointment for her as it would otherwise be.

  6. She really wasn’t a big part of the movie either, none of the three girls were really given anything to work with and Dakota Johnson seemed like she was trying for 15% of the movie.

  7. Actors have no idea how the final product will turn out after editing, ADR, special effects, etc.

    I don’t think highly of Sydney, but I agree that she did not have much control over how shitty Madame Web was.

  10. I would do the same as her and take the job for the check. People can mock the movie, but most likely her paycheck for this movie was higher than most our yearly salaries.

  13. It’s a healthy attitude to have in Hollywood. Some projects are doomed to fail. An actor could put on the performance of their lives and it wouldn’t help. Bad movies don’t help when it comes to getting future roles but it’s not a death nell either.
