Reporting a faulty street light is really very easy.

  1. Not every council is like this. Some still require you to fill out a form and manually report the street, location, etc.

  2. Mine has this but then asks you where when, number etc

Oh and they want your, name, number and email address so that they can make you click a link rather than using a captcha

  3. Easier than mine. My council expects you to provide the number, painted in small characters, off the side of lamp post. Alright Karen, I’ll just stop on the dual carriage way to scribble down a number because you don’t have a map of them to highlight or describe to you.

  4. I live in hope that one day soon, my only gripe in life will be reporting a faulty street light.

  5. I’ve actually been really surprised by my local council recently in terms of responding to reports like this (they’re rubbish in other ways). Reported a missing button on the crossing outside my work, it had been missing for about a year and I was fed up. It had been fixed within 2 days! Not long after during the dark mornings I noticed the street light outside my house was out, reported it Friday by Monday afternoon someone was out there.

Was genuinely impressed by their response time but like I said, they’re making some bad decisions for local communities elsewhere. Can’t fault whatever team deals with crossings and street lights though.

  6. Ours have recently been doing loads of LED ones. They’re fucking bright!

  7. For anyone without a council website like this, try Fixmystreet. It’s a great website if you find a road with a dodgy pothole, flytipped waste, broken light. The council respond pretty quickly.

  8. I was surprised my council has a similar set up for reporting potholes. You can find it on the map and see if someone has already reported it, if they have you can add your email address so you get an update when it’s done

  9. This was a life saver in North Yorkshire when there was one of the LED lamps flashing right outside my bedroom window. Fixed in three days!

  10. Gloucester city council did act quickly on the report I gave tbf so does seem to work down here.

  11. Now where do I report cars at night without their lights on.

  12. Anyone used fixmystreet? Not as clean as this but compared to whatever came before? MWAH 👌🏼
