TL;DR:
* China Southern Airlines warned passengers on social media not to throw coins at planes.
* A Wednesday flight was delayed four hours after such an incident.
* In a video, a flight attendant tells confused passengers someone threw “three to five coins” into the engine.
In that case they need to ‘change’ their attitude.
Goddamnit – they better not add this to every safety drill before we fly.
Hate it when this happens
Just imagine the bad luck they likely avoided if they hadn’t tossed in those coins.
Great. Now all the airlines are going to be forced to put “Don’t throw coins or other objects into jet engine” warning stickers on all the engine cowlings. Said stickers of course will come off mid-flight and get sucked into the intake.
This definitely isn’t the first time it’s happened, wonder how often it has happened before without it being noticed and it’s only been sheer luck that it’s not caused planes to crash.
Wow. Damn commies not even letting folks throw coins.
Umm why and how are they getting to throw coins into jet engines.
Edit: just read full article. It’s to wish for a safe flight, like throwing coins into a fountain. Fucking morons.
How tf are passengers getting near the engines in the first place? It ain’t a bus, nobodies opening their window!
The absolute retardation of throwing coins into an airplane’s engines…
Why does none of them seem to realize that hey, maybe those big engines we’re throwing coins in could break, and I am on this plane!
I’m so over parts of humanity it’s not even funny, common sense has become rare these days.
but, but,… how will we get our lucky mileage reward?
How fucking dumb can you be
Toss them into the engine and make them find the coins
Confucius say “Person who wants to avoid a rapid De-cent, should not throw coins into aeroplane engine.”
Hey, it’s good luck to jam a stick in your bike spokes while you’re riding! Follow me for more good luck tips!
This happens all the time.
When are they going to put up enclosed walkways for Chinese airports.
What the fuck is wrong with people.
It’s probably some elderly person finally going on a trip with their son who moved to the city 30 years ago and didn’t bother explaining what not to do when getting on a plane. China has a half billion people living in rural areas, many of whom are old, superstitious, and have no concept of modern transportation, let alone a massive turbofan engine on an airliner bigger than anything they’ve ever seen before.
How stupid can you be???
Break your plane engines for good luck
How in the hell do these passengers even have close access to the engines?! They’re going to need to put up mobile walls now to block access.
And the fact if that shits hits anyone ,tell the devil I said hi
They do it for good luck with the flight.
If the flight is grounded, it won’t crash. Flawless logic.
If they remove the coin to fly, throw another coin to reset the cycle.
This really seems like something you shouldn’t have to explicitly state.
Haul him off to the penny-tentiary.
Sorry… if you’re throwing coins into the engine, you don’t get to fly.
So many animals and people are suffering due to Chinese superstition.
Apartments with certain numbers aren’t built to cater to Chinese buyers lol
“Let me just toss some debris into the engine of this vehicle that I’m about to spend the next several hours on.” Only in China lol
It’s like a wishing well! 🥰
I just feel like this is one of those things we should not need to be warned about, but here we are.
Good advicev
Who knew this could ever be a thing? Like a throwing coins in a wish pond? Like, “I wish I wasn’t flying today?” Or maybe “I wish to die today?”
Dumb and educated zombies thanks to the CCP.
