Here’s a list of Democratic reps who haven’t signed the discharge petition to force a vote on aid to Ukraine, with their numbers in DC

  1. Some of the progressive members are refusing to sign because the bill includes aid to Israel. But it’s worth explaining to them that this bill passing or failing will make no difference in Israel’s tactics or strategy, and its failure won’t bring about a ceasefire. But it will lead to Ukraine potentially losing to Russia.

(Irrespective of your views on Israel-Gaza, I’m just trying to frame it in language that these people might find persuasive.)

  2. Well, I’m glad to see that my representative has signed onto the petition. I’ll have to give them a call of thanks.

I just hope there’s a way to get even some republican constituents to call up their reps. We’re going to need at least a few to meet that 218 threshold to bypass Mikhail Johnson.

  3. I can understand why they wouldn’t want to sign it. Stop a bloodbath in Ukraine while funding another? Hard to justify the terms here.

EDIT: im ready to get downvoted into oblivion as is always the case in this sub when you talk about any civilian suffering other than Ukrainian. Come at me, you bastards!

  4. I wonder if there is going to be a problem with Katie Porter given the drama around her recently.

Time for the Dem whip to get cracking.

This was as of 1pm on the 13th. Any updates since that time?
