I do not want to take away from the cause which was being protested but at the end of the day the COVID restrictions were what they were. Plenty of worthy causes had to be sacrificed as part of that.
They were given the opportunity to leave towards the end without any penalty, she chose not to and that action had consequences. Utterly crackers that they’ve paid her £10K.
Just a reminder that anyone else man handed by the police won’t get shit.
Complete nonsense. They broke lockdown rules. Everyone else had to abide by them and sacrifice their right to protest.
Woman wins settlement against met police in no win no fee allegations, in which lawyers on both sides were enriching themselves. Great day for justice.
Remember that Kate Middleton attended a vigil on the same spot in the day and nothing happened.
No misconduct was identified. Officers exonerated by HMIC. Sad that it’s often cheaper to pay off these sorts without accepting liability than engaging in more protracted legal arguments.
