A Y-DNA chromosomal study on Brazil shows that roughly ~80% of ‘white’ Brazilian Y-DNA (male ancestors) are from (or around) Portugal and the Mediterranean, roughly 13% is North African and Middle-East, 2% is Sub-Saharan African and the rest is from elsewhere in Europe and Asia. An estimated 0% of white Brazilians have a male Amerindian ancestor.
In total, only about 3% of the Brazilian male population have a male Amerindian ancestor (haplogroup Q). From what I could find of course.
On the other hand, seemingly 25%ish of the Brazilian population has female Amerindian dna (according to the mtdna study (passed down by women)) .
Now… I don’t want to outright say what this implies but… Portugal may have done something to the men and something else to the women… just a theory… 😬😬
