Which do you think costs more: Giving outdoor employees a break every now and then for some shade and water or stopping all work periodically while ambulances come to haul workers to the hospital after they keel over from heat stroke or dehydration?
Florida is apparently willing to take its chances with the ambulances.

If the purpose of a system is what it does then the purpose of the Florida government is to make people suffer.
Well what if a company has life insurance policies out on their employees? The company would get a payout if the employee dies, so.. profit?
Edit: I just googled this.. it’s called dead peasant insurance. Nice.
Human Sacrifices for our Corporate Overlords! They should feel honored!
They better get the ambulance boats ready as it’s gonna be underwater soon enough
> OSHA also has no specific worker-protection standards for companies to follow. President Joe Biden ordered the agency to get this done back in 2021, but OSHA takes seven years, on average, to turn such dreams into actual workplace reality.
I would love to be able to tell my boss it will take me 7-years to complete whatever project I’ve been assigned to accomplish.
They are not alone
And they’ll probably keep electing the politicians, including DeathSantis, who pass this legislation.
Yes.
Well they are also anti abortion so they probably figure they can continue to feed the system.
That state cant be underwater fast enough
Thanks for sharing our column!
GOP wants no workers rights, and punishment to all who demand a decent paycheck and safe working conditions. GOP is back at Great Gatsby days of no regulation and wild west politics, they need to go the way of the whigs w/ their awful brand of christian nationalism fascism, and we need to do something about the propaganda that melted their minds into this slurry of anti-democracy (literally, how many times before 2020 did our RW say, MAN that Putin is awesome and I sure love that gopnik fascist politics where nobody has a choice, and 99% live in poverty! Gimme!” never, but they were getting close, and we do know the conservative penchant for regression – that’s their actual platform, and when we had regulated capitalism (which began unraveling in the 80s), mixed with a nice variety of social programs based on a solid tax structure, our country was in its heyday, and now we’re back to dark ages extractionism, and GOP are malaria mosquitos feasting on us all. MAKE THEM GO AWAY in November, vote them out, there are far more moderates and LW that need to work together to keep these psychos at bay, push them back under their rocks in shame, and to any business owner that agrees w/ the dark ages torture of our working class, i pray your business goes under and you become one of the laborers…
There is no need to stop for ambulance. Or for ambulance till the end.of the shift…
