  1. Is there anyone here who works/has worked in this area that can explain how a case like this would possibly be taken as manslaughter over murder? I’ve looked at CPS and it states the following:

    >Where an unlawful killing is done without an intention to kill or to cause grievous bodily harm, the suspect is to be charged with manslaughter not murder. Apart from the absence of the requisite intent, all other elements of the offence are the same as for murder.

I don’t get how having a knife, pulling it out and then using it against someone can avoid the intent part of the above?

Edit: I’d say it’s been answered – it wouldn’t get accepted by the prosecution, it’s just the product of terrible legal advice.

  2. Wasteman. This the kid that got angry for being rejected by the girls friend?

We need to start holding the parents accountable to some degree.

My parents would smack me Left, right and center if I was misbehaving a certain way But, Reddit will cry for spanking children…this is warning to parents reading. Smack your child early. Discipline them early. Be present.

  3. Causes: Social media. Narcissism. Bullying. Peer pressure. Having to “keep up with the Joneses” in order to fit into a society that measure you on your attractiveness and peer assimilation.

  4. This is such bullshit. If you carry a knife, and you kill someone using said knife, that’s murder. Not manslaughter, but murder.

  5. At this speed, well end up with our own Barbeque PM by 2050

  6. Lock him up and throw away the key. Simple.

It’s not about individual rehabilitation at this point. It’s about setting an example to others.

  7. Can the fact that he tried to get it put as manslaughter and was rejected, now get used as evidence in the murder case?

As in now, they can do away with the whole part of the trial that has to establish who it was that actually did the killing?

  8. Violent crimes like this should all be charged as adults IMO.

    And increase sentencing ten-fold.

  9. But why? What was the reason?
    She was just 15yrs old
