  1. Relative though isn’t it, there’s probably a best place to live in Gaza.

  2. > It comes as a new £120m Stockport bus interchange is due to open.

    The icing on the cake.

  3. As a resident of Bury i cant complain about being overlooked its a shithole, the highlight of our week has been the tip made national news because it stinks and we had 3 stabbings in the town centre

  4. Nah, my MIL lives there.

I lived in Stocky for a period in my youth, glad it’s much better than it was way back then!

  5. Stockport gave us Blossoms who are,in my opinion, a fantastic band.
Other than that, I’ve driven past it a few times and that’s it.

  6. I have also lived in Stockport a few years ago (now live near Blackburn) and the main thing I found the most annoying was the fact it’s directly under the flight path for Manchester airport – you do kind of get used to it but that was on major reason I moved away. I lived a few streets away from Edgeley Park stadium and didn’t bug me nearly as much as planes roaring overhead every 20 minutes

  7. A bit like boring London suburbs, when you have to sell something as only being “x minutes from x” , it probably doesn’t have that much going for it.

The largest brick-built structure in Europe is obviously what they should lead with.

  8. Anyone who lives or has spent time in Stockport knows this isn’t true. I wonder who they’re trying to appeal to with this headline.

  9. Might have to pop over at some point, lower the tone.

  10. The town centre was still super run down last time I was there

  11. ‘Best place to live…’

    Hmm…

    ‘…in the northwest’

    Oh.

  12. Must not have visited Brimington or offerton estate

  13. Born and raised in Stockport. It’s better than where I live now, in Hyde.
