Had exactly the same happen to me. First they used my consumptiecheques, afterwards my ticket compliments before they could get to my ecocheques. They claimed the register cant make up the difference so it uses the thing you got last first.
Working for a big retailer here, this was purposely configured like this by Edenred, Monizze & Sodexo: the system will look for the cheques with the nearest validity date and use these first … Without the holder having the means to choose them.
Same difference… What else are you going to use it for?
So what is the difference for you? The money is gone. You only have a digital counter representing your balance and at the end of the line edenred gives real money to the merchant
Happened to me today. That wasn’t my plan but it’s a good thing actually.
I paid for a Nintedo Switch in MediaMarkt with Eco(!)cheques when I said I wanted to pay with Consumptioncheques. I was confused and happy when I noticed… When I returned a week later to buy two Switch games they asked “Do you have a non-zero balance on you ecocheques because we can’t pick if the money is taken from the ecocheques balance or the cosumptioncheques balance”. I have Sodexo btw, not Edenred. I think the whole system is just f*cked because of the addition of the cosumptioncheques.
This is what I would prefer, but Albert Heijn did the opposite for me (monizze). I couldn’t pay for non-food with the consumption cheques either…
Hasn’t happened for me (monizze)
Must have missed that memo. What are consumptiecheques? I have eco and maaltijd.
Yep same here. Wanted to get a new coat with them but cant anymore
I work in a Colruyt ( as a student) and there is it, at first you pay with maaltijdcheques until you have nothing of that anymore no than ( if you want to use consumptiecheques) you need to pick the card out off the card reader and put it back in there, and then only then you can use consumptiecheques for as far as I know.
A BASF colleague I see 😉
this is known… they take the ones that expire first automatically…
It used to be some places were playing fast and loose with the paper eco-checks, accepting them for almost anything.
So, nowadays I have a *bunch* of digitsl eco-checks, and I need a certain personal gadget ( IPL device) available at mediamarkt etc. and now sure if I can “get away with it” like before… pfft.
My poor son went to supermarket with the card, where I have 0.2€ on tickets supplements and 100+ as meal voucher, the supermarket refused payment told my son he only has 20cent, poor boy came home hungry 🙁
Consumptiecheques are just a dumb addition/split. Just make either ecocheques or maaltijdcheques available in more places and for more goods, dammit!
I received an email from Sodexo this week stating the following:
“Important!
Vos Consumption Pass sont automatiquement utilisés si leur solde est suffisant et qu’ils expirent avant vos autres Pass.
Plus besoin d’y penser !”

Edenred here, don’t know about other companies
Thanks for the heads-up.

Perhaps Edenred made the same change?
