Yea I’m not a huge fan of Paul Krugman, but he’s spot on.
I would say a better verb is “raid”. We are talking about a combined 15.3 percent of every paycheck in America, forever. As it stands now, there are zero Ferraris, private jets, or yachts involved in the administration of these programs. That’s incredible and one of the few things we can really be proud of in terms of government and corruption.
But if you funnel that money through Wall Street or any other private entity, the people involved will become billionaires overnight. Their yachts will make Bezos’ yacht look like a dinghy. Might even create the first trillionaire.
