Hello,
I am in a process of renewing my permit and I was asked to get a confirmation that I never needed a social help. I tried to sent an email to the address they gave me but I got a mail saying that I was never a resident of city Zurich (instead of the confirmation I hoped for). In fact that is correct, I have lived in two different towns in canton Zurich. Does anyone know where can I find the right place or the right email address relevant for my 2 towns?

  1. I would mail the two municipal administrations and ask about that piece of paper. Worse case scenario is they point you to the right place to get said paper.

  2. Every municipality should have their own ‘Sozialamt’ or a regional one in case of small towns. I’d go to the official website of the town and check for the Sozialamt contact details, or send an email to the Gemeindeamt directly and ask them for guidance

  4. In the town office where you live, they will give you such a statement on paper. I doubt they would do that per E-Mail, for the reasons of privacy protection.

  5. If you always lived in the Canton of Zürich and still do, then the contact details in the same letter are sufficient. It has an email address and a small paragraph that explains what I said.

    This looks like a renewal-or-upgrade option, and that kind of information is required for the C-Permit. I’ve got my letter last year and It had all the Infos.

    If you lived in another Canton in the past 3 years (or 5? I forgot..) or even multiple, you have to get information for all those municipalities (and pray that it works online via mail!).

    I lived in Aargau within the requested time frame and they didn’t provide this online or via mail, I had to take a day off and get it physically in a smallish municipality.

    You can find the right place by calling the municipality you lived in, or googling “Sozialamt <place>”

    Edit: sorry for the paragraph, I didn’t see the image text for typical reddit reasons – everything is there for Zürich, you just need to give the Sozialamt in the other place a call.
